Contract killers, hunters, whatever name they choose, Deadeyes have honed their skill to take out their targets from extreme distances. If you see a glint from a building across the way, it's too late.

As Flatliners specialized in taking out targets from extreme distances, Deadeyes are one of the most lethal classes out there. Deadeyes are not only trained to use a rifle, but are also experts in stealth, reconnaissance, and observation. These skills allow Deadeyes to do what they do best, which is to shoot their enemies when they're unaware and protect their allies.
Deadeyes usually work in a team, but they are prepared at all times to complete the mission on their own if necessary. As snipers, Deadeyes have to be calculating, as much of their work involves physics and math. Oftentimes, Deadeyes will be spotted using a notepad more than they use their rifles. |
// BUILDING A DEADEYE //
When creating a Deadeye, ask yourself the following questions: how did you gain your skill with your rifle? Are you a former soldier, or have you been trained since your youth by a parent or mentor? Have you learned by yourself, through trial and error, or maybe through real life practice, improving your technique by surviving real life gunfights? How is your ability with your rifle used, and for what purpose?
Do you seek justice, bringing swift revenge to wrongdoers? Do you enjoy gaining rewards after capturing bounties or killing VIPs; or do you enjoy hunting for an elusive game? It is not only the ability of the Deadeye, but how and when their ability is used that becomes the stuff of urban legend.

// SANGUIS DECIMAM //
As mercenaries, Deadeyes have access to a special currency that few other classes have access to: Sanguis Decimam, "blood tithe" in Latin, known to most as "Favors".
ORIGIN: After the war, many veterans and mercenaries were left out in the cold by society. Left to fend for themselves, a strange community was formed among Vanta City's deadliest. DEAD DROPS: Dead Drops are dedicated terminals, secondary locations and dens hidden from polite society that mercs can use to network and trade favors. Sanguis Decimam is simply the method everyone uses to track these favors and one's social standing. It has no value outside the community, but within it its a measure of both how helpful you are to others, and your reputation. THE VALUE OF BLOOD MONEY: Nobody questions the value of Sanguis Decimam: for every target that a Deadeye kills, one coin is earned. Some VIP's may grant more coins, but only if their life is worth more than someone else's. One Sanguis Decimam can be traded in for a favor, hence it street name. That favor can either range from getting a new barrel for your sniper rifle to something as simple as a hot meal. |
